Project Manager – NPD (Audio)

B.Tech in Electronics or relevant field.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning & Execution

· Define scope, deliverables, and timelines for each soundbar project.

· Maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.

· Track progress, manage risks, and resolve delays proactively.

2. Cross-Functional Coordination

· Liaise with R&D, Industrial Design, Hardware, Firmware, QA, Procurement, and Marketing.

· Align teams with the product roadmap and milestones.

3. Product Development Oversight

· Manage the entire development cycle from concept to production.

· Ensure DFM, DFX, and adherence to all product specifications.

· Monitor supplier/OEM/ODM performance and timelines.

4. Quality Assurance & Compliance

· Work with QA to meet compliance standards (CE, FCC, RoHS, EMI/EMC).

· Oversee EVT, DVT, PVT stages for validation.

5. Risk Management

· Identify and mitigate risks in technology, supply chain, or execution.

· Prepare contingency plans.

6. Cost & Budget Control

· Optimize BOM and tooling costs while meeting quality and margin goals.

· Ensure cost targets are met across project phases.

7. Stakeholder Communication

· Provide regular project updates to NPD Head and senior management.

· Maintain KPIs, dashboards, and reports.

8. Launch Readiness

· Ensure all packaging, documentation, and marketing collaterals are ready.

· Drive smooth transition from pilot to mass production.

9. Post-Launch Monitoring

· Track customer feedback and early failures.

· Coordinate quick resolution of field issues.

10. Continuous Improvement

· Identify gaps and improve NPD processes across the board.

11. Raw Material (RM) Sourcing – China & Domestic

· Source critical components (e.g., PCBs, drivers, ICs, plastics).

· Negotiate with Chinese/local suppliers for cost and lead times.

· Ensure uninterrupted supply for high-priority items.

12. Local Vendor Development

· Identify and onboard domestic vendors to reduce import reliance.

· Conduct audits and build vendor capabilities in DFM, packaging, QC, etc.

13. Customer Project Interface

· Act as the SPOC for customer-side communication.

· Provide updates, resolve escalations, and manage expectations.

14. New Product Launch (NPI)

· Drive NPI readiness with tooling, trial builds, and validation in place.

· Ensure all functions are aligned for smooth ramp-up.

Qualifications:

· B.Tech in Electronics or relevant field.

· 5+ years in project management, preferably in the audio/consumer electronics space

Skills & Competencies:

· Excellent knowledge of BOMs, testing cycles, DFM, and compliance.

· Strong project management and team coordination skills.

· Proficient in tools like Excel, MS Project, Jira.

· Good understanding of supply chain in both Indian and Chinese contexts.

We are seeking a Project Manager – NPD (Audio) to lead and manage end-to-end new product development of home audio products, especially soundbars.
