Key Responsibilities:
Import Finance & Compliance
- Process and manage foreign remittances and advance payments to overseas vendors in line with RBI and FEMA regulations.
- Validate import documentation such as Bill of Entry, commercial invoice, packing list, etc., to ensure correct accounting and tax treatment.
- Coordinate with banks for letter of credit (LC) opening, amendments, and retirements.
- Monitor payment due dates and ensure timely settlement of overseas liabilities.
- Handle BOE (Bill of Entry) reconciliation and follow-up for missing documents with vendors and clearing agents.
Export Finance & Incentives
- Prepare and validate documents for export invoicing and realization of export proceeds.
- Coordinate with logistics and banks for export documentation, realization certificates, and E-BRC (Electronic Bank Realization Certificate).
- Assist in applying for export incentives (e.g., RoDTEP, MEIS, SEIS) under DGFT guidelines.
- Reconcile export proceeds with bank statements and AR ledgers.
Regulatory Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with FEMA, RBI, GST, and customs regulations related to imports and exports.
- Coordinate with auditors for required documentation and disclosures during statutory, internal, and tax audits.
- Prepare periodic reports for foreign currency exposure, outstanding payments, and trade finance utilization.
- Assist in filing returns or forms as required by regulatory bodies.
Coordination & Documentation
- Work closely with purchase, logistics, and commercial teams to align documentation for smooth financial processing.
- Liaise with banks, freight forwarders, customs house agents (CHA), and government authorities on finance-related trade matters.
- Maintain organized records of all trade transactions and financial documentation for audits and internal use.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce / Finance / Accounting (MBA Finance or CA Inter preferred).
- 3–6 years of experience in finance-related import/export operations.
- Sound understanding of trade finance, FEMA, RBI guidelines, LC, and customs compliance.
- Proficiency in SAP, or other ERP systems and MS Excel.
- Strong documentation, reconciliation, and analytical skills.
Preferred:
- Experience working with authorized dealer (AD) banks, DGFT, and customs.
- Knowledge of GST on imports/exports, IDPMS/EDPMS reconciliation, and exchange rate management.
