Brandworks Technologies and DPIIT Partner to Empower India’s Hardware Startups

New Delhi, India – In a significant step toward technological self-reliance, Brandworks Technologies Private Limited, through its newly launched vertical BIRF (Brandworks Innovation Research Foundation), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi. The collaboration aims to bolster India’s product startups, MSMEs, and entrepreneurs in the electronics and hardware ecosystem by providing access to resources, mentorship, infrastructure, and markets.

Building a Self-Reliant Hardware Ecosystem

The partnership reflects Brandworks’ continued alignment with the Make in India vision. For Ishwar Kumhar, Founder & CEO of Brandworks, the MoU represents both progress and purpose.

“We once navigated the same narrow valleys that startups face today, including prototype dead ends, supply chain gaps, and scaling hurdles. This MoU activates our compass to guide them through.”

Through BIRF, Brandworks is creating a collaborative ecosystem where innovators and industry partners come together to transform ideas into real-world solutions. Startups will gain access to Brandworks’ advanced innovation lab for prototype development and extended mentorship for large-scale manufacturing support.

A Shared Vision for Growth

Under the MoU, DPIIT’s Startup India initiative will facilitate national network access, program participation, and co-branding opportunities. Brandworks will contribute its technical expertise, manufacturing infrastructure, and industry insights to strengthen India’s electronics innovation pipeline.
Mr. Sanjiv Singh, IRS, Joint Secretary, DPIIT, graced the signing ceremony, emphasizing the importance of such partnerships in building world-class products that reflect India’s growing manufacturing excellence.

Beyond Buzzwords: Creating Real Impact

The Time Is Now

India’s $91 billion electronics market is at an inflection point. It is strong on demand but still dependent on imports for core components. This partnership seeks to change that by connecting early-stage innovators with the infrastructure and mentorship they need to scale sustainably.

“Most hardware startups die before their first production run,” says Kumhar. “They design brilliant boards but can’t find affordable manufacturing partners. We’ve fought those fires, and now we share the hose.”

As global supply chains evolve and India’s PLI schemes gain traction, the Brandworks–DPIIT collaboration fills a crucial gap in India’s hardware innovation ecosystem by helping ideas move from concept to commercialization with confidence.

Please note: Partner with Brandworks to shape the next wave of innovation in electronics. Let’s build smarter, more connected solutions for India and the world.
