Legal and Compliance Manager

1. Statutory & Labour Law Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all applicable central and state labour laws for manufacturing units, including:
  • Factories Act, 1948
  • Industrial Disputes Act
  • Shops & Establishment Act
  • Payment of Wages, Minimum Wages, Bonus, and Gratuity Acts
  • EPF, ESIC, Professional Tax (PT), Labour Welfare Fund (LWF)

2. Licenses, Registrations & Regulatory Approvals

• Oversee statutory registrations, licenses, and renewals (Factory License, CLRA, Boilers, Fire, Pollution Control, etc.)
• Ensure all regulatory approvals are valid and up to date

3. Statutory Filings & Audits

• Manage statutory filings, returns, inspections, and audits
• Maintain proper documentation and readiness for compliance checks

4. Government Liaison & Inspections

• Handle labour inspections, notices, and queries from authorities
• Act as the point of contact for liaison with labour and regulatory bodies

5. Contract Management & Legal Documentation

• Draft, vet, and review contracts, agreements, MOUs, NDAs, and vendor/manpower contracts
• Ensure legal soundness and risk mitigation in all agreements

6. Legal Coordination & Case Handling

• Coordinate with external legal counsel, consultants, and auditors
• Support handling of legal cases, disputes, and compliance matters

7. HR & Employee Relations Support

• Partner with HR on employee relations, disciplinary actions, and legal compliance
• Ensure adherence to corporate policies, including POSH and internal governance frameworks

8. Compliance Monitoring & MIS

• Maintain compliance dashboards and trackers
• Provide periodic compliance MIS reports to leadership

The Legal & Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring complete legal, statutory, and regulatory compliance across manufacturing operations.

The role focuses on minimizing legal risks, maintaining regulatory adherence, and supporting smooth and uninterrupted business continuity.
